Ongoing uncertainty regarding when schools will reopen has been at the forefront of everyone’s mind since school districts across New York State closed their doors on March 16th and shifted toward remote learning. Parents are appropriately concerned about what the upcoming 2020-2021 school year will look like for students and staff.
While so much remains unknown, we do know that the education sector is in the final phase of New York’s four-phased reopening plan. Additionally, when schools do reopen, they will likely look much different than they did previously as NY school districts adjust to forthcoming regulations and guidance.
For NYC public schools, the final day of remote learning for the 2019-2020 academic year will be Friday, June 26th. The NYC Department of Education recently announced that summer school will be offered remotely and begin earlier than usual to allow students a more continuous learning experience.
