iCAMP's STEAM Classes for PS-84 Students!
Become a creator! iCAMP’s after school programs focus on teaching STEAM topics like coding, robotics, studio and graphic art, science, filmmaking, video game design, 3D printing, and more!
During each class students complete engaging and fun hands-on projects that encourage creativity, collaboration, and problem solving. These classes are offered exclusively to P.S. 84 families and take place directly in the school building.
Each day two periods of classes are offered: 2:40pm – 4:15pm and 4:30pm – 5:45pm. Sign up for either period or both! If you sign up for both periods with iCAMP, you child will be with iCAMP instructors from 2:40pm – 5:45pm.

Coding Concepts for Pre and Early Readers:
Build the foundation of a coding future for your child with Coding Concepts for Pre and Early Readers. This course combines unplugged, analog activities and age-appropriate coding software to build a knowledge base for a future in programming!

Creator’s Club, Art and Engineering:
Practical and creative design meet in this club for young creators interested in both art and engineering. Here, students will learn the nuts and bolts behind home design, animal habitat creation, and even engineer their own obstacle courses – along with many more challenging projects!

Your child will look at the natural world with new eyes after taking iCAMP’s Environmental Explorers course. Filled with fun activities, science experiments, and creative projects, this class encourages students to better understand and appreciate nature and the physical laws that govern it!

LEGO Engineering Exploration:
Take your child’s knack for building to another level with iCAMP’s LEGO Engineering Exploration course. In this class, students will use classic LEGO pieces to solve hands-on engineering challenges, like building and stress-testing a bridge, constructing storm-proof towers, and more!

Little Einstein’s Fun with Science:
Put on your lab coats and don your safety glasses, iCAMP’s Little Einsteins’ Fun with Science course is a broad introduction to core scientific concepts for young learners. Throughout the course, students will learn more about the chemical reactions, molecules, atoms, and physics that define the world around them!

Is your child fascinated by all things that go “vroom?” If so, iCAMP’s Moveable Machines course might be exactly what the doctor ordered. Focusing on simple and compound machines that can generate power and motion without using electricity, this course provides space for students to explore their need for speed in a safe, controlled environment.

Gadgets and Gizmos:
Ideal for budding tinkerers and builders alike, iCAMP’s Gadgets and Gizmos course gives students the inside scoop on all the gadgets and machines that we rely on in our everyday lives. Students will get hands-on with motors, speakers, and electromagnets, creating their own circuits to power them.!

Graphic Design and Digital Storytelling:
If you’ve got a young artist in your life, iCAMP’s Graphic Design and Digital Storytelling course can give them the tools to bring their imagination to the big (and little) screen. Students will learn how to design their own emojis, work with Google to create their very own websites, and animate their own art with the help of software like Pixilart!

Mad Scientists: Slime, and Goop, and Machines, oh my!:
Welcome to the world of weird science! In this course, budding inventors and fledgling mad scientists can experiment to their heart’s content, creating their own slime recipes and learning about the chemistry of polymers to gain a better understanding of how it all works!

Moveable Machines:
Students will learn about the fundamental principles of motion and energy by creating their own machines! Through fun explorations and projects, students will be able to identify and create the parts of different simple and compound machines. They will be challenged to create machines that generate power and motion with no electricity and will hone their engineering skills by testing and remodeling their creations!

3D World Building:
Creativity meets planning, designing, building, and learning about fun technology platforms! Students will flex their creativity when dreaming up fantastic worlds, coming up with the plans to build them, and executing those plans. To flesh out their creations, they will create backstories, design characters, and build real-world models. Then they will leverage 3D modeling software and Minecraft Education Edition to bring these worlds to life right before our eyes!

Coding and Video Game Design with Minecraft Edu:
Get the most of your child’s screen time by challenging them to think deeper about the games they play. This course introduces core coding concepts like loops, conditionals, and events to young students, utilizing block-based coding platform Scratch to give them the hands-on experience they need to improve as amateur coders. Once these principles have been enforced, students will move on to working with Minecraft Education Edition!

Future Entrepreneurs and Innovators:
In this course, students will learn about the entrepreneur’s journey along with helpful skills and tools that will set them up for success. They will dream up their business ideas and discover what it takes to bring these ideas to life. Moreover, they will practice collaboration, teamwork, and learn about the importance of dividing up project tasks. Students will leverage graphic design tools to build their brands, develop promotional websites, and use digital design, coding, and 3D modeling software to bring their products to life. They will also all pitch to the class in our own little Shark Tank!

Minecraft Club:
Is your child crazy about Minecraft? Or interested in learning more about the smash video game hit? You might be surprised at how effective this world of crafting and design can be for teaching students complex coding and software concepts – while never once seeming like anything but good, old-fashioned fun!

Lego Robotics and Engineering:
With the help of the incredible LEGO SPIKE Essential kits, students can experience the wonder of their first robotics course. During each lesson, students will be challenged to build a new robotic gadget or gizmo to solve a problem through exciting, story-based challenges. Then, they can learn the ins-and-outs of coding to operate their robot creations and complete the challenge.
